Trying to get food at an automated cafe

I was in a foreign place, possibly a foreign country, and I was wandering around looking for something, but I don't know what it was I was searching for. I realized I needed food, so I began looking for a place to buy something to eat. I saw a tiny cafe up the street, so I headed there. Someone else was with me at this point, and they came with me. I went inside, and even though it was minimal, there was a high-tech self-serve counter to order from. I was trying to figure out how to get it to work, pushing buttons on the screen and pulling levers, but nothing was working. Two locals who were also in the cafe came over and tried to help me, but they couldn't get it to work either, then I woke up from my dream.
